Ms. Kayembe was recently invited to the United Nations NGO Conference on August 26 & 27th, 2015 to speak about her initiatives in Africa on a panel lead by Amir Dossal. She spoke about her role as co-founder and partner in the Tour of Tech: LAGOS, a new initiative that brings investors from Silicon Valley to tour technology hubs in Africa for investment opportunities; the tour is curated to highlight local culture, women entrepreneurs and social impact startups. The tour was done in partnership with two female-founded startups, Ingressive and TASTEMAKERS Africa (TSTMKRS).
During the NGO Conference, she built and moderated a panel on Africa, Technology & Social Impact with Silicon Valley and Tel Aviv Venture Capital investor, TV business pundit, Lou Kerner; additional speakers included the CTO of IROKO TV Partners, Chief Digital Officers of and Ogilvy Worldwide and McCann Global Health, Executive Director of Pan African Investment Fund, and the US State Departments’ African Technology Investment Director.

What are the differences being an entrepreneur in Silicon Alley and Silicon Valley vs Africa? What are the challenges of being a female entrepreneur in tech in Silicon Alley vs Africa and what strategies do you use to overcome them?
